Revisiting Mission Possible

Now I know that I said yesterday we would be looking at spinning today.  But I am so close to being finished on my current project that I want to show the finished yarn.  Maybe later tonight.

I do think it is time for me to look at this list again Mission_possible_button (I'm feeling a little startitis coming on):

  1. Knit second Lenore sock
  2. Knit second Flower Power sock
  3. Get sock yarn stash below 100 (ahem… I think I’ll have to knit or give away at least 10 skeins this year)--working on this
  4. Finish knitting husband’s aran sweater (half body is finished, sleeves not yet designed)
  5. Finish knitting Debbie Bliss silk shrug (back is finished)
  6. Finish knitting MS3 (on second to last clue)--I've decided I will never wear this and I'm considering frogging.
  7. Choose a pattern and knit another lace item to bring down the stash a notch--designing a table runner at the moment.
  8. Keep up with 2008 RSC projects--working on this
  9. Finish spinning current Yarn Wench fiber on wheel
  10. Keep up with Spunky spinning club fiber--working on this
  11. Choose a random skein from the “old bin” stash and knit something from current pattern collection
  12. Knit knee highs from yarn I dyed in a class last year. --played with this yarn and decided it would be hideous as socks.  Maybe a baby sweater or socks?

Hmmm I am working on Spunky Club fiber spinning and I am knitting on 2008 RCS sock projects, but I still haven't touched 1, 2, 4 or 5.
Okay, that is visited...Let's move on.

Research

I love Knitty!  Who doesn't really?  But I never read the articles.  Earlier today someone from a group I'm on posted a link for an article on bind offs.  I love it!  Now I'm on the technique research track.  Here's a link for a tubular bind off.  I think this one is a different tubular bind off.  It may just be explained differently.

Actually I think I am just plain in research mode.  So far today I have been looking to prove that the husband's great-grandfather never gave up his Italian citizenship.  There are so many documents out there it has opened a whole new area to me.  I've found that Ancestory.com is the most useful site for what I want.  I've researched the best web designer to use for our new business.  Best to go with recommendations for that one.  And I"m trying to find a cater for a friend.  It is so nice to have a bit of extra time in the day!

I've also gotten back to making lists.  One for what needs to be done before I leave town.  One for what I want to get rid of from my apartment.  Actually I have way too many lists started right now.
But it gets me back to this list Mission_possible_button Let's take a look at where I am right now--

  6. Finish knitting MS3 (on second to last clue)
  7. Choose a pattern and knit another lace item to bring down the stash a notch

Okay, here is my list for Mission Possible 08:

  1. Knit second Lenore sock
  2. Knit second Flower Power sock
  3. Get sock yarn stash below 100 (ahem… I think I’ll have to knit or give away at least 10 skeins this year)
  4. Finish knitting husband’s aran sweater (half body is finished, sleeves not yet designed)
  5. Finish knitting Debbie Bliss silk shrug (back is finished)
  6. Finish knitting MS3 (on second to last clue)
  7. Choose a pattern and knit another lace item to bring down the stash a notch
  8. Keep up with 2008 RSC projects
  9. Finish spinning current Yarn Wench fiber on wheel
  10. Keep up with Spunky spinning club fiber

  12. Knit knee highs from yarn I dyed in a class last year.

This should be manageable.  I'm not saying this all I'll be doing this year or that I'll be going in any order.  But I'm excited to knit or spin all of these projects.

Well looky here

We actually have some photos.  I should insert these into the past posts that were lacking them, but why not just have a fun photo post instead.
First, I do have to say that the husband had his surgery yesterday and it was a great success.  The Emergency room doctor did such a great job of setting his arm the surgeon was able to move the bones into place and pin them without any incisions.  He should also have a much shorter recuperation time.  I couldn't help but take this photo on our return from the hospital that first night P1020198 You can tell he was thrilled I needed to document the moment.  Here are some snow pics from that night and a few others this last week P1020199 P1020205 P1020200 Can you see how big some of those flakes are?  Here are my Spruce Sprigs socks P1020203If you scroll back a couple of posts you'll find the details about these pretties.  The recipient has declared them very wearable and warm!
Here is the current project P1020208 While I love the squishiness of duet yarns this is not a project I am loving.  The self striping in the feet is turning to pooling in the legs.  I would prefer it to be the other way around.  I may just finish these at the standard length.  However, I am now in love with the knee high idea and need to do a little stash diving for the next sock project.
In the single sock area here is Lenore P1020196_2 This and another of the RSC projects need pairs.  My February sock projects.
On the already a joiner in '08 subject Mission_possible_buttonJane found this on Ravelry and has copied the description here.  This is the perfect KAL for my 2008 resolutions!  And we'll be putting ole Lenore as #1.

I'm talking here too
