Episode 41--Chillin on a chilly day

A fun filled week!  The final day (and purchases) from Flock and Fiber.  The beginning of The Community Sock Club (and there is still room whether you live in Portland or not).  Plus I spent time at a party with Farmer John (he was in a documentary--The Real Dirt on Farmer John) last night.  He is such a kick.  Do check out his site!  And here is a film that I was involved in--Ingredients.  It showed in Portland last weekend and will be showing on OPB in the future.  I'll make sure to let you know.

Episode 39--Filling up a week

I am so happy to have been able to record today.  I don't have time to photos or music notes yet, but I wanted to get the podcast uploaded.

Episode 38--return of the cook

I am back and finally able to find time to record again. Hopefully I will also have the newsletter finished by the weekend as well:) I had a terrific time at the Apple Farm over Labor Day weekend. Our menu was terrific:  Red Pepper, Manchego and Almond Salad; boonville Bouillabaisse; Pink Pearl Clafouti/ Fresh Garden Tomato Pasta with goat cheese/ Sopa de Poblano; Cruuy glazed duck legs with plum salsa and couscous; garden salad and cheeses; Chocolate Chinchilla/ Corn cakes with salsa fresca; Sausages in Cider; Berry Shortcake with hot cream sauce.  Yum!  I talk more about what we cooked and the class in the podcast, but I also wanted to show you some photos of the farm.  I forgot to mention that I got a fun surprise to find a bed of Indigo in the garden.  The oldest daughter is raising a few sheep (which I never did find) and is naturally dyeing the fleece so she can spin and knit during the Winter months. Sally, Don, my mil and sitting is my god mother inlaw:)   the brambles you see is the only fencing they have to use for the horses.  Chicken coop ( I wish I had a camera with me at the moment--I am typing out in the meadow and the dog just got a wild hair and chased the goats all through the meadow and into the pasture)

I took a great book with me on the trip. I haven't finished it yet, but I'm having a hard time putting it down. Highly recommend any books by this author.

Lost in Space

I'm sorry that there hasn't been an update of podcast episodes the last two weeks.  I have had to take an unexpected break due to time constraints. 
I'm about to head out the door for a road trip with my mil and godmother.  I'll be posting on Facebook through out the next week.  So friend me so you can follow along.
There will be a podcast episode late next week:)  And then you'll hear the whole "what I've been up to" deal;)

Episode 36--Sitting in the Sun

Episode 35--Sock Summit recap

I'm sorry this is taking me so long to finish this week.  My father came to town as Sock Summit was finishing up and I've been so busy.  I will get photos loaded as soon as I can.  Make sure to check out all the fun threads on the Ravelry Sock Summit group.

Episode 34--Blue Sparkles

Our two new bunnies Bogie and Bacall are Satin Angoras.  What wonderful colors to add to our herd:)  And here are the new ducks in and out of the water  

And here is Emily, Shannon and wee Hazel of Twisted yarn shop.  Getting ready for Sock Summit!  They were very generous to donate a door prize for the Pre-Summit luncheon.

Episode 33--So very warm!

It is a warm week here in Oregon.  I was lucky to have a weekend in the 80s while visiting Seattle.  We returned to a hot one!
Visited Hilltop Yarn Store and Lucca in Seattle.  Both too cute!

This week is going to be full of preparations for Sock Summit.  It's coming up fast:)  And trying to keep the garden watered and harvested (lots of pesto and salsa in our future).  Plus trying to knit up all kinds of socks and shrugs for next week.
What are you all eating this Summer?  We are using the bbq a lot and eating lots of creative salads.
